Then perhaps we are your future employer.Digital cellulose is a cutting-edge research area that originated from two very strong areas of research; organic electronics (RISE ICT) and cellulose (RISE Bioeconomics). By combining cellulose and electroactive materials, it is possible to produce composites that can not only conduct electricity but also store energy. This provides the opportunity to create a variety of cellulose-based products such as batteries, smart packaging, intelligent bandages, etc.The Digital Cellulose Centre (DCC) is a so-called VINNOVA competence centre, funded by VINNOVA, industry and academia, with a focus on Digital Cellulose. The objective is to create technology for environmentally sustainable cellulose products that will become an integral part of the digital world. The centre will be operational for 10 years and currently has 10 industrial and 5 academic partners. The aim of a RISE competence platform is to build up and establish the knowledge, skills and experience within a strategically important research area for RISE.We are looking to appoint a Centre Director for the VINNOVA Competence Centre Digital Cellulose Centre and the RISE Competence Platform Digital Cellulose. About the positionAs the director your daily work entails creating the best possible conditions for DCC's partners to pursue joint research projects, build-up competence and disseminate knowledge. You will also lead the work of establishing Digital Cellulose as a strategic research area within RISE and coordinate activities between RISE ICT and RISE Bioeconomy. You will actively work to attract new partners (especially SMEs) and establish relationships with national and international networks.You will initiate and run new activities and coordinate research within the centre together with a management team consisting of senior research leaders from various industrial and academic partners. For assistance you will have a deputy director, a research coordinator and a steering committee. In addition, an important task will be to attract additional funding to DCC.Location: NorrköpingWho are you?In order to be successful in the role, we believe that you are passionate about innovation and sustainable growth for Swedish industry based on new research results and bio-based solutions. Your leadership is distinct, you set high standards and lead by example whilst having the ability to establish and integrate a common research platform.You have a broad national network with business, public sector and academia and enjoy building long-lasting relationships. It is highly important that you are a team player with a pronounced teamwork ability. You are a strong academic leader but with a good understanding of industrial needs and have a high integrity and the ability to see the potential in others. You have a university or equivalent education relevant to the field and you speak and write English fluently. Swedish is a plus but not required.
